
Northern Design Manager

- The Design Manager will successfully lead a team, by demonstrating effective management, strong business acumen and the ability to make a difference. You will be focused on providing a high level of customer service having an awareness of the diverse needs of your clients. This position involves the management of human and physical resources while co-ordinating multiple groups to satisfy customer and Downer requirements. This includes the day-to-day management of the Design and Engineering team to ensure effective and efficient use of resources.
- Work with key stakeholders to plan and phase the work programs to ensure resource optimisation
- Review all bids to the Market to ensure they are competitive
- Complete project QA and ensure all as builds are completed before work packs are sent in for invoicing
- Actively monitor and manage the Red Defect SOR deliverables
- Monitor and manage allocated team overhead budgets to ensure no over spends
- Provide leadership to direct reports imparting expertise and coaching and developing
- Identify and minimise business risks and compliance issues, including critical safety and environmental risks.

- Recognised National Certificate or Industry experience
- Possess a working knowledge of network companies operating procedures and standards, particularly relating to construction, defect, faults and routine maintenance standards
- An experienced Leader who can step in and assist the team when needed along with the ability to coordinate and supervise
- Willingness to travel locally to attend sites and clients
- Strong Customer focus (both for internal and external clients)
