At Hospice West Auckland, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional specialist palliative care services to our patients, whānau and caregivers. Each person in our team comes to work knowing that they are contributing to an organisation that truly makes a difference in people's lives.We are looking for a part time (20 hours p/w) Volunteer Administrator to support our busy Volunteer Services team with a whole range of general administrative activities, recruiting new volunteers, coordinating onboarding & offboarding of new volunteers and maintaining volunteer databases.The OpportunityThe Volunteer Administrator is an integral part of our supportive and collaborative Volunteer Services team.Duties include:
  • Being the first point of contact for all people-related inquiries and managing relevant email accounts
  • Assisting with onboarding and exit processes for all volunteers
  • Assisting with the coordination and administration of volunteer recruitment and records management
  • Providing administrative support to ensure the effective running of Volunteer Services events
  • Maintaining accurate, thorough, and up to date database records
  • Reporting on Volunteer analytics and information as required
We are a small team so there will be a lot of variety in your day and opportunities to learn.We are based on the Te Atatu Peninsula, so if you live in the West and are looking to avoid the commute to the city and the cost of parking - this may also be attractive to you.Our volunteers are crucial in enabling us to carry our important work, so you can know that your efforts are helping Hospice West Auckland to care for the many patients and families who depend on our services.About You:You will be a conscientious and approachable person who is proficient with different technology systems and has excellent accuracy and attention to detail.You will be comfortable communicating both internally and externally and be happy to jump in and help out when team members need it. Having a positive ‘customer service' approach with strong and efficient technology/administration skills will be the biggest advantage for this role.Other key requirements:
  • Previous experience in an administration or customer service role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organised, systematic & efficient with a meticulous eye for detail
  • A cooperative and flexible approach to work with great interpersonal skills
  • A full, clean NZ driver's license to visit our various work sites if required.
This is a busy 20 hour per week role working 5 hours per day Monday - Thursday.
