Skills/Experience:

National Certificate in Mental Health Level 4 qualification
1-2 years relevant acute/residential/community mental health experience
Current (CPI) Calming, restraint and Crisis Prevention Intervention Certificate OR
Mapa (Management of Actual or Potential Aggression) training OR
SPEC (Safe Practice Effective Communication) training OR

Duties include:

Assist mentally impaired or emotionally disturbed patients, working under direction of nursing and medical staff.
Assist with daily living activities, lead patients in educational and recreational activities, or accompany patients to and from examinations and treatments.
The Psychiatric Assistant will perform delegated care duties, housekeeping duties and food service duties to enhance the recovery of Service Users
Performing close and constant observations in accordance to hospital policys.

You must be a NZ Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid Work Permit. Geneva Healthcare is unable to assist with immigration requirements for this position.
