Are you starting your teaching journey and looking for the right centre to grow? BestStart Aidanfield is looking for a passionate Teacher in Training to join our welcoming and supportive team.We're a small, friendly centre located right beside a beautiful park, which our tamariki love exploring. With long-standing Kaiako who value teamwork and whanaungatanga, we provide a nurturing environment where children are encouraged to develop independence, resilience, and self-help skills, setting them up for a successful transition to school.About the role:
  • Permanent position, 30 hours per week, Monday-Friday
  • Rotating roster between 7am-6pm
  • Based in our preschool (2+ years), where tamariki explore, discover, and build meaningful relationships
  • Work alongside whānau and kaiako to nurture curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning
  • Open to those currently in their first year of Level 7 ECE study (Bachelor), or planning to begin in 2026

What we're looking for:
  • Enrolled (or planning to enrol for 2026) in a Level 7 ECE Bachelor
  • Passion for quality teaching and child-led learning
  • Knowledge of Te Whāriki, ECE regulations, and a commitment to high standards of practice
  • Dedication to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in everyday teaching
  • A team player with enthusiasm, energy, and a love of learning
