- A range of scientific and ecological fieldwork in a variety of, terrestrial and wetland ecosystems, including habitat and vegetation mapping, species surveys (lizards, bats, birds, invertebrates), and species translocation, weed and pest surveys
- Data collection, management and information presentation
- Report writing, including preparation of technical reports, compliance reports, ecological management/restoration plans and ecological impact assessment reports
- Planning, co-ordinating and leading fieldwork activities in collaboration with project teams
- Working on multi-disciplinary projects that integrate scientific, engineering and ecological services
- Sustainable development (conservation, ecosystem services, biodiversity urban development) initiatives and operations at a regional and national levels
- Liaison with T+T staff, Council personnel, clients and DOC representatives
- Engagement with mana whenua and incorporation of Mātauranga Māori into project work
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Ecology, Zoology, Botany or closely related discipline, MSc desirable
- Ideally you will have skills working with coastal avifauna (inc. korora)
- A minimum 3 years' professional work experience in a consulting, regulatory and / or research environment
- High level of organisation, time management, able to manage competing demands in a fast-paced work environment
- Experience preparing technical ecology reports, including compliance reports
- Experience collecting a range of ecological data, data management and record keeping
- GPS, GIS skills and digital mapping competencies
- Good communication skills, able to confidently communicate with a range of people, -and you need to be able to work well with others. Previous experience leading a field team preferable.
- Be field competent and comfortable working in remote and rough terrain
- Be Health and Safety conscious
- Solution focused with problem solving skills, high attention to detail and professional initiative
- Full NZ drivers' licence
- Exposure to a variety of professional experts and projects; T+T are involved in a number of large-scale alliance projects, as well as smaller community focused projects
