Job Description Hi all, We have the opportunity for a 2ic/Herd manager for the upcoming season that has had a minimum of 2 years experience, also and preferably if partner is interested there will be full time work available between relief work on our 2 farms as well as farm owners 3rd farm amongst other jobs.You'll be assisting my brother and myself who are contract milking 2 adjoining farms in the Taranaki region alongside our partners and 2 other workers. This means we will require you to assist over the 2 farms as required. Main focus will be to free either of us up from the shed in order to allow us to attend other jobs on farm as well as general farm duties such as spraying, break fences, feeding out etc.Both farms are just over 500 cows milking through 50 & 54 bail rotaries with inshed feeding, protrack, cup removers and auto teat spraying.
Plan on roster being 11&3 (fri,sat,sun or sat,sun,mon off). The alternating weekend on will only consist of milking and any jobs that need doing.The other role would consist of relief milkings between the 3 farms as well as day work from fencing, tractor work, drainage and just about anything involved with the development of the farms so any experience in this area would be ideal. Renumeration to be discussed.
