We're looking for an experienced lawyer who is resourceful, self-motivated, and is focused on driving improvement. This is an exciting in-house opportunity for someone who wants to develop a long-term career in Insurance.Your Role:
You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive range of legal services that underpin our business activities. You will ensure that Chubb NZ operates within legal boundaries while championing our values and promoting a strong compliance culture.As a member of the Chubb NZ legal team, you will:
  • Review, negotiate, and draft essential legal documents, including insurance policy documents and various contracts that drive our operations.
  • Provide insightful legal and regulatory advice on a broad spectrum of company initiatives, from insurance products to customer interface issues.
  • Monitor and navigate the evolving legal landscape, ensuring compliance with all regulatory changes and fostering strong communication within the business.
  • Develop and implement local legal and compliance policies aligned with our global standards.
  • Contribute to company secretarial functions, including drafting key reports and documents.
Qualifications:To succeed in this role, you should have:
  • A current New Zealand legal practising certificate with 5- 8 years of post-admission experience.
  • Strong expertise in corporate, commercial law, with experience in financial services or insurance preferred.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively, both independently and within a team.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, along with the confidence to influence at all levels.
  • Excellent commercial acumen.
