Consultant Radiologist (Public Healthcare)Location: Auckland, New Zealand

Salary: Commensurate with experience + Relocation & Immigration SupportPurpose of the PositionWe are seeking a qualified and experienced Consultant Radiologist to join a dynamic Radiology Department that serves both a diverse urban population and a wider regional community. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering timely, high-quality diagnostic and interventional imaging services and supporting multidisciplinary teams across a full spectrum of clinical specialties.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical DutiesProvide expert interpretation and reporting of radiological images to the highest clinical and professional standards.Conduct a range of radiological procedures within your scope of practice, ensuring patients are fully informed and consent is appropriately obtained.Contribute to the department's general radiology, interventional radiology, and on-call rosters as applicable.Service Delivery & CollaborationEngage proactively with referring clinicians to ensure timely clinical decision-making and patient management.Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and radiologist business meetings to support integrated patient care.Assist in operational planning and clinical governance as required by service leadership.Teaching & SupervisionTeach and supervise radiology registrars and other junior medical staff.Contribute to the wider education of clinical staff, including delivering teaching sessions and participating in regional training programs.Quality & SafetyParticipate in quality improvement activities, audit projects, and continuous professional development (CPD) programs.Ensure adherence to national radiation safety standards and regulatory guidelines.Uphold cultural safety principles and contribute to a respectful, inclusive, and responsive care environment.Qualifications & ExperienceEssential:Primary medical degree (MBBS, MBChB, MD or equivalent).Fellowship in Radiology (e.g. FRANZCR, FRCR, FRCSI) recognized by the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ).Provisional or full vocational registration (Diagnostic and/or Interventional Radiology) with the MCNZ, or eligibility to obtain it.Demonstrated expertise across a broad range of radiological modalities and procedures.Preferred:Prior experience in a multi-disciplinary, public hospital setting.Subspecialty interest or advanced procedural capability (e.g. Cardiac CT, MRI, Interventional Radiology) is welcomed but not essential.Skills & Personal AttributesStrong communication and interpersonal skills.Commitment to continuous improvement and patient-centred care.Ability to work effectively in a team and across diverse cultural and professional environments.High level of professionalism, problem-solving, and time management skills.Additional InformationComprehensive support for relocation and immigration is available for suitable overseas applicants.The department offers a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive work environment, supported by excellent radiology equipment and digital systems.Opportunities for involvement in teaching, service development, and quality initiatives are supported and encouraged.If you're looking for a role where your radiology expertise will make a real impact in the community while enjoying work-life balance and career development in beautiful New Zealand we encourage you to apply.Apply now or contact us confidentially to learn more about this opportunity.Salary PackageMinimum Salary: NZD $185,380
