- Provide intake and withdrawal assessments for individual clients, prepare mental health and risk assessment as needed.
- Maintain individual case notes and ensure they are entered into the system by the end of each shift.
- Support clients who have been referred from community alcohol and drug services and liaising with specialist nurses.
- Support detox clients many of whom have co-existing issues which can result in problems that include aggressive behaviour and deep depression / suicidal thoughts.
- Provide advocacy supporting client to attend appointments. (E.g., Court, Work and Income, applying for emergency housing)
- Post Graduate qualifications and/or experience / qualification in Management or team leadership DAAPANZ Registered Practitioner.
- Commitment to embodying the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi in organisational practice.
- Empathy and understanding of issues of trauma, mental health, addiction, poverty and homelessness.
- Excellent team building, collaboration and partnering skills, with aptitude for getting things done through both formal and informal channels.
- Full clean driver's licence.
