Padel New Zealand Sports Coordinator - Volunteer role/Student placement rolePadel is among the fastest growing sports globally, boasting 30 million players across 130 countries. It made its debut in New Zealand in late 2023 and is now experiencing rapid growth.Padel New Zealand, the governing body for the sport in Aotearoa, is looking for a volunteer to support us on an ongoing basis - ideally a 3rd year student needing a placement, but anyone with a passion for growing a new sport is welcome to apply.This is an exciting opportunity in a popular and growing sport - a chance to help shape the future of padel in New Zealand, which is a unique opportunity.Depending on your skills and interests, you might be involved in most or some of the following activities:
  • Developing new initiatives to attract players to padel and strategies to grow the sport in Aotearoa.
  • Helping with applications for sports funding.
  • Coordinating tournaments for our national events.
  • Offering suggestions and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency in processes (registrations, CRM, and databases).
  • Assisting in High Performance planning.
  • Supporting the development of referees and coaches in NZ.
  • Creating press releases and engaging with the media.
  • Collaborating with Regional Sports Trusts, Sport NZ, and other National Sports Organisations.
  • Researching, planning, and generating content for social media and our website.
  • Conducting sponsorship research and management.
This role may be particularly well-suited for a student in a Sports Programme looking to complete their placement requirement in their 3rd year, or for anyone else with a passion for sports. Ideally, the candidate should be able to commit a minimum of 6-8 hours each month for a period of 6-12 months.Like many new National Sports Organisations, we currently do not have an office, so this role will involve a mix of remote work, meeting up with our team across the country(Auckland/Wellington/Hamilton/Tauranga depending on where student resides), Zoom meetings with our members across and at padel clubs or courts.To find out more about us, visit our social media and website:If you are interested, please reach out to us atThank you.Job Details Reference # 29256
