Become a valued member of our team, contributing to our 24-hour housing and recovery service, where you'll provide essential support to a maximum of 16 individuals. As a Support Worker, you'll deliver comprehensive assistance to tangata whaiora throughout the day and into the evening, fostering their well-being and journey towards recovery.Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting activities that are wellbeing focused with our tangata whai ora
- Partnering with agencies (eg: MSD, employment, housing) alongside tangata whai ora, to support and advocate for great outcomes.
- Completing required documentation, including recording activities and progress as a key worker for our tangata whai ora.
- Developing and supporting tangata whai ora to achieve intentional goals that increase independence and life satisfaction.
- Participating in maintenance activities as required e.g. supporting tangata whai ora with their vegetable gardens and general site cleanliness and tidiness.
We are interested to hear from people from all backgrounds and life experiences who demonstrate a caring nature towards others and are prepared to work within a recovery and trauma informed way. You will have the following:
- You must hold a current full driver's licence.
- Hold a current first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one.
- Do you hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent or are currently studying towards this qualification or a recognised equivalent.
