Waikato Milking Systems global headquarters and engineering divisions are in Hamilton, NZ with offices and Warehouses in Australia, USA, UK, Ireland, and China, with agents and customers in every dairying nation in the world.Job DescriptionAs part of the New Product Development Team you will concept, prototype and design new mechanical and automation products and systems for the milking industry globally.You will be involved in 'hands on design' as well as ensuring projects meet key milestones and deliverables. Producing detailed drawings, you will own the transition from design to manufacture, all of which occurs on our site at Horotiu.There is a strong focus on collaboration with the wider NPD team and other stakeholders to tap into the extensive internal expertise to deliver innovative componentry and systems for the Agri-tech sector.You will be an excellent communicator, who is well organised and can hit the ground running. Excellent priority setting will ensure those key milestones and deliverables are met.Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years' design experience with indepth experience designing steel, plastics, and automation products
  • Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineer, with a relevant tertiary degree
  • Proficient knowledge of best practice project management using tools i.e., Microsoft Project, Asana
  • Highly skilled in 3D CAD software
  • Approachable and flexible
  • Excellent problem solving
  • A strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement
  • Have strong understanding, and passion for Agri-tech
  • Develop, manage, and sustain excellent relationships (both internal and external)
  • Be well organised and able to deliver on key milestones
