Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this roleGrade General, Wairau Hospital, Permanent Full timeHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the RoleAs a Grade General (Unit charge MIT - General X-ray), you will lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the General X-ray team, ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality imaging services.You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of radiologists, technologists, and administrative staff in a supportive and collaborative environment.This is a permanent, full-time role working 80 hours per fortnight, Monday to Sunday 7.00am to 11.00pm, rotating and rostered 11.00pm to 8.00am Monday to Sunday.About the Team/Service/ LocationYou will join a close-knit, supportive healthcare community in the stunning Marlborough region.Wairau Radiology is a key part of healthcare services at Wairau Hospital, offering a comprehensive range of imaging to support clinical care for the local community. Our team works collaboratively to deliver a timely, accurate and patient focused imaging services, including X-ray, CT, ultrasound, and mammography dedicating a gold standard service to a diverse patient population.For more information on living and working in Blenheim clickAbout youAs a Grade General (Unit charge MIT - General X-ray), you will:
  • Provide clinical leadership and operational management for the General X-ray unit, ensuring effective daily operations,
  • Supervise, mentor, and support the professional development of the team members,
  • Coordinate staff schedules to ensure optimal service delivery,
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to support seamless patient care,
  • Maintain highest standards of patient care, ensuring all imaging procedures are performed with accuracy and professionalism,
  • Manage and maintain the imaging equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards,
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits to enhance service delivery,
Skills and experienceWe are looking for someone who:
  • Is registered with the NZMRT Board and hold a current APC,
  • Has a minimum of 3 years of experience as a MIT, including leadership and supervisory experience,
  • Has extensive knowledge and technical expertise in General X-ray imaging,
  • Has excellent organisational and time-management skills,
  • Has commitment to high standards of patient care,
