Location: Head Office, AucklandReporting to: Engineering ManagerDirect Reports: Software EngineersEmployment type: Permanent, Full-timeHow you’ll make an impactAs a senior level Software Engineer and Team Lead, you’ll play a crucial role in both the technical and leadership aspects of our data warehouse product. Using your expertise in data handling, automation, and cloud infrastructure you will deliver impactful solutions that align with business goals.Leading a team of skilled engineers to build and optimize scalable .NET applications, you will cultivate a culture of continuous improvement to enhance product quality and team performance.What you’ll doSoftware Development: Lead the development of robust, high-quality, and scalable .NET applications. Prioritize automation and streamline processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual efforts.Commitment to Quality: Work with the team to maintain high standards and share responsibility for product quality.Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve issues, communicating their impact to stakeholders and helping to prioritize solutions.Standards and Learning: Keep up with engineering best practices and ensure the software we build meets current standards.How you’ll do itLead with Vision: Align your team's efforts with the product’s vision and ensure they understand and embrace these values in their daily work.Effective Communication: Articulate complex ideas clearly and foster alignment within the engineering team.Build Trust: Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders including product, support, and other engineering teams. Cultivate an environment of trust and credibility.Foster Growth and Collaboration: Support team development through coaching and feedback, while promoting a collaborative and high-performing environment.RequirementsLeadership & Team Management – Mandatory

Proven experience leading engineering teams
Strong ownership of team deliverables and accountability
Skilled in coaching, feedback, and team development
Effective stakeholder communication and cross-functional collaboration

Infrastructure & Deployment Expertise – Mandatory

Experience deploying applications in Kubernetes
Strong grasp of observability and distributed logging in cloud-native environments
Proven experience with DevOps pipelines and managing cloud infrastructure

Backend Development Skills – Mandatory

Advanced proficiency in .NET development
Strong experience with relational databases

Domain Experience – Nice to Have

Experience with big data queries
Exposure to data warehousing
Prior work in data-heavy domains

Years of Experience

Minimum 5+ years in backend software engineering, ideally with some team leadership responsibilities
