- On the job and in-house training opportunities.

- Providing professional advice to clients on all Mechanical/Engineering/HVAC trade matters.
- Contributing to resolution of ongoing code of compliance issues and building warrant of fitness items for Property Services.
- Carrying out physical supervision of Mechanical/Engineering/HVAC trainees.
- Co-ordinating with Facility Managers on the installation and maintenance of services within buildings.
- Managing the documentation process of As Built’s and Operation Manuals for mechanical/engineering/HVAC undertakings on the Otago Campus.
- Co-ordinating all Mechanical/Engineering/HVAC work with relevant staff and contractors for the University of Otago.
- An Engineering/Mechanical/HVAC qualification.
- Sound knowledge and practical experience of complex mechanical and HVAC systems.
- General knowledge of materials, equipment, and sub-trades relative to the building industry.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- A result focussed and client centred service ethic.
- The ability to co-ordinate with other trades and contractors.
