The roleAre you a Planner or Policy Analyst with some experience and are looking for a new challenge? Then this could be the role for you.This role will require you to balance an understanding of the resource management system with what works on the ground. It will allow you to play a leading part in the review our existing resource management plan and in the design of new policies. Work content will be varied, including local implementation of national freshwater policy, review of our pest management plan, and implementation of other national policy direction. We will look to you for analysis and advice on policy options to support the review of the One Plan (Regional Policy Statement, Regional Plan and Coastal Plan).About youYou'll have a drive to make a difference for our community and the environment, and be keen to work through complex issues that have no easy answer. This role will require you to demonstrate strong critical thinking skills, and a willingness to work as part of the team to turn Government policy into workable regulation and programmes. You'll have an ability to write for different audiences - and be able to quickly absorb, adapt and translate information for those who need it. You will need strong interpersonal skills, as well as good time management, to deliver results.Ideally you will have at least 3 years' policy or planning related experience.
