The Taranaki Transport & Infrastructure team is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to drive the delivery of Downer's road construction and maintenance activities. Downer has a number of long-term contracts that come with exciting opportunities each step of the way - This is a fantastic time to join our business and be part of this growth period.In this role you'll oversee our team of Project Managers & Engineers who manage the delivery of minor civil construction and maintenance projects from start to finish including; Reseals, Asphalt Surfacing, Pavement rehabilitation, Slip remediation, Safety improvements and intersection updates, Cycleway and footpath construction just to name a few.Based from our New Plymouth office - Ultimately you'll ensure that your team deliver to contract requirements, whilst optimising resources and achieving targets. As a Senior Project Manager, you'll come with plenty of experience Managing Projects of all sizes, you will hold either a formal civil engineering or project management qualification (e.g. BE, NZCE). You'll also bring with you
- The ability to communicate effectively and build, maintain and grow relationships at all levels
- Civil engineering experience including knowledge of pavement construction
- Proven capability around people leadership and management, including the ability to influence others
- Commercial acumen including the ability to decipher financials
- Experience in leading bids and compiling tenders
- Excellent organisational skills
- Experience with, and a strong commitment to health and safety initiatives
