What you will be doing | Ngā whāinga matuaYou will be providing high quality technical support in field operations, assisting with field agronomy at our Lincoln site and regionally. Supporting cereal breeders with crop inventory management, organisation, data collection and field management, you will prepare seed for export to overseas cereal breeding clients and receive imported material, maintain records and contribute to reports. Assisting with the layout and preparation of cereal nurseries you will use your communication skills to connect with key international and domestic clients and contribute to the planning and supervision of casual support staff.What you will bring | Ngā tino pūkenga me ngā wheakoTo be successful in this role, the minimum qualifications are:
  • Bachelors Degree essential
  • As a minimum, at least 2 years' experience working in cereal breeding and nursery programmes is essential
  • Preferred experience with seed importation/export pathways to meet MPI requirements
  • Preferred experience in implementing assigned operational plans or processes
  • Preferred experience in the operation of a range of farm machinery and equipment including GPS, self-driving and specialised harvesting equipment
  • Flexibility to meet seasonal requirements and willingness to do physically demanding work in all weather conditions
