- Cinema Attendants are allocated tasks, areas of responsibility (such as Point of Sale, Choctop Production, Cleaning Duties, Bathroom Cleaning, Cinema Checks, Rubbish and Recycling) and the necessary equipment each shift (Walkies etc).
- Cinema Attendants are fully informed about all events and promotions, any new health and safety information and all other matters that management wishes communicated at the commencement of each shift.
- Where required, assistance is provided to Cinema Sales Attendants in dealing with difficult patrons with the aim of providing a resolution.
- Assistance is provided to Management as required with training of Cinema Sales Attendants.
- POS and Supervisors Floats, Keys and Walkies are collected from the Duty Manager at the start of each shift.
- All equipment is turned on and operational at the start of each day.
- There are adequate supplies of stock on prepared for each shift and supplies are replenished as required (Popcorn, Choctops, Beverages).
- Adequate staff are allocated to tasks to ensure the effective operation of the POS area and to ensure that patrons are served quickly and efficiently.
- Cinema Attendants complete necessary forms, particularly the Wastage form, as required and/or appropriate.
- Cinema Sales Attendants are provided with change from the Supervision float as required.
- There is zero variance in the Supervision float at the end of each shift, or there is an adequate explanation for a negative or positive variance.
- Where till floats do not balance every effort is made to determine the reason for the negative or positive variance.
- All variances in cash floats are reported to the Duty Manager with, wherever possible, the reason(s) for the variances.
- All surfaces and food and drink producing equipment are kept clean at all times.
- Where allocated, an accurate stocktake count of all stock items is undertaken each month on a Wednesday night and reported to management.
- Adequate staff are allocated to tasks to ensure the efficient and controlled movement of patrons within the complex.
- Cinema checks are undertaken during screenings.
- Cinemas are cleaned between screenings within the time allocated.
- All faults or breakages are rectified if possible, or where not possible are logged in the Fire Check Book and reported to the Duty Manager. Where faults occur in the Play Arcade, customers are directed to the Play Attendant. If they are unavailable, discuss next steps with the Duty Manager.
- All messes such as spillages are cleaned away as soon as possible.
- A consistently high standard of cleanliness is maintained in the floor areas throughout each shift.
- A Break Sheet & Fire Evacuation sheet showing which area each employee on the shift is responsible for in the event of an emergency is completed and posted on notice boards as required and communicated to employees at the start of each shift.
- A fire check is undertaken at the commencement of each shift and where faults are reported these are rectified before patrons are permitted into the area.
- All Fire Exits and doors are checked at the end of each session and faults noted and fixed before the next session.
- Employees do nothing that will cause or result in injury to themselves or other persons.
- Patron toilet facilities are kept clean and hygienic at all times.
- Incidents of theft, defacing of cinema property, and sneaking in without paying are kept to a minimum. Where caught, the persons responsible are reported and escorted to management.
