We are currently looking for a skilled and reliable Machine Operator to join our team for ongoing hillside projects based in Waikanae. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with a strong background in operating heavy machinery and a passion for quality workmanship.
About the Role:
As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating excavators up to 30 tonnes on challenging hillside terrain. Your day-to-day tasks will involve landscaping, paving, and concrete works, working alongside a skilled crew to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate excavators (up to 30t) efficiently and safely in a variety of environments, including steep and uneven hillside locations
- Perform landscaping duties including site preparation, grading, and shaping
- Assist with paving and concrete works as needed
- Maintain machinery and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times
- Work collaboratively with other team members and supervisors to complete projects
- Minimum of 5 years' proven experience operating heavy machinery, specifically excavators up to 30 tonnes
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in landscaping, paving, and concrete work
- Ability to work on hillside and uneven terrain with confidence and precision
- Reliable and punctual with a professional approach to work
- Own reliable transport is essential due to the remote location of the work sites
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
