My client is a global multi-national company with a significant brand name. The MNC purchased a specialist NZ entity a few years ago which has been rolled up into the Group and provides a specialised product to both local & global markets.The business in NZ is circa $30M revenue and has approximately 35 staff. As you will be part of global team, your reporting line will be directly to the Finance Director based in Chicago and have a dotted line to the local GM.Once up to speed, you can work a hybrid model of up to 2 days from home, provided you can support the business as and when required.The Role
The role of Finance Manager / Plant Controller is a stand alone finance role in NZ whereby you have a very broad remit as follows:
  • Drive plant performance, providing analytical data on materials useage, cost statements, P&L performance, manufacturing statistics and labour analysis
  • Drive the annual budget process
  • Own the monthly & quarterly forecasts and provide insights thereon
  • Complete transfer pricing regarding lease agreements
  • Ensure inventory control and manage the accounting for inventory
  • Analyse and interpret financial results to identify trends and activities to drive performance, providing commentary thereon for decision making
  • Provide strategic guidance to the business on customer performance and trends
  • Influence plant leadership to drive performance
  • Ensure the balance sheet is analysed and reconciliations are completed
  • Filing of NZ taxes
  • Be the super-user of the ERP systems
  • Manage the company insurances
  • Negotiate lease agreements with 3rd party vendors and customers
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX, DOA and accounting policies
  • Leadership & development of others as required
  • Other ad hoc duties
Your profile:
To be considered for this role, we are looking for a Senior Finance professional who truly understands the Manufacturing cycle and driving performance from an Accounting perspective of a plant. You must have the following skills & attributes:
  • Cost accounting and manufacturing experience
  • A broad commercial accounting background where you have demonstrated an ability to influence the business
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • An ability to be hands on
  • An ability to get involved in the factory operations and be a business partner
  • A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Accounting.
