We're looking for a self-driven Operations & Marketing Manager to take full ownership of the day-to-day running of BARK's thriving kennel. This is a hands-on leadership role designed for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, where you'll have the autonomy to structure your hours around what works best for both you and the effective operation of the kennel. You'll lead a dedicated team, deliver exceptional customer experiences, and drive growth through thoughtful, strategic marketing all while enjoying the benefits of paid on-site accommodation.Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily kennel operations and animal care
  • Lead, induct, educate, and schedule staff, maintaining appropriate dog-to-staff ratios
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and manage client communication
  • Develop, execute & report on monthly marketing initiatives.
  • Make outbound calls to existing and prospective customers
  • Engage & build relationships with vets in the area for BARK business referrals
  • Manage budgets, monitor KPIs, and provide written monthly reports to the Director
  • Represent the business at annual local pet expos and events
  • Relationship building with Ara to assist with work experience within their animal health, welfare and vet students.
What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years' experience in vet services, kennel management or other associated animal service industry.
  • 2+ years' team leadership experience (managing 5+ staff)
  • 1+ year of experience in marketing and/or administrative roles
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Proficient in Accounting Software and Microsoft Office.
  • Physically fit, and a willingness to pitch in, in all areas of the business
  • Evidence of someone who is detail-oriented and systems based
  • A mentor leader who can focus on the team and getting the best from them
Preferably You'll Have
  • Experience in Pet Manager, Xero, and Microsoft Office
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Marketing, or Animal Care (preferred)
  • Current First Aid Certificate and Animal Welfare training
  • Availability on weekends and public holidays is required
