We're looking for a registered Industrial Electrician to join a well-established ironsand mining and processing operation on the rugged west coast of the Waikato. This is a permanent, full-time role on a 4-on, 4-off roster (predominantly days, with nights every 4-6 weeks), with accommodation provided on site and strong earnings through overtime, shutdowns, and night shift allowances. This is a remote operation, the options are that you either live locally in a small coastal town, or commute in every 4 days for a drive in, drive out arrangement, and live in a bigger town like Hamilton, Otorohanga etc.You'll be joining a practical, self-sufficient team where everyone gets stuck in - this isn't a corporate environment.What You'll Be Doing
- Maintenance, repair and fault finding across HV (33kV/11kV), MV (3.3kV), and LV (415V) systems
- High voltage switching, isolations and safe work procedures
- Variable speed drive maintenance and electric motor servicing (LV/MV)
- Instrumentation support (flow, level, belt weight, radioactive sensors)
- Lighting, power systems, UPS/battery backups, radios, GPS and plant comms
- SCADA/PLC diagnostics and control systems support (Schneider-based)
- Contributing to root cause analysis and continuous improvement
- Supporting shutdowns, ship loading, and preventive maintenance planning
- Completing required documentation (CoCs, ESCs), and ensuring EWRB compliance
- NZ Electrical Registration and Practising Licence
- Experience with HV and LV systems in an industrial or heavy-duty environment
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across electrical and control systems
- Comfortable working outdoors and independently in a remote location
- Working knowledge of isolation, confined space, WAH, and contractor supervision
- Computer literacy (experience with MEX or similar CMMS useful)
- Background in mining, forestry, heavy utilities or similar is preferred
- $60/hour base rate + $600/night shift bonus + overtime at time-and-a-half
- Earnings are $160K per year (before any additional shifts)
- 4-on, 4-off roster (days and nights), accommodation provided on site (no costs)
