Mō te tūnga | About the roleWe are seeking a pro-active and dynamic individual to join our Organisational, Resilience and Safety Team as a Principal Adviser Custodial Practice. This role reports to the Integrated Systems Team and supports improving custodial systems and practice.As an experienced Principal Adviser in custodial practice, you'll be responsible for the development and provision of advice and support to operational and practice leadership teams to ensure that practice development and application of practice in the field is effective, consistent, and continuously improving. You'll develop custodial practices, ensuring current best practice is integrated into the department's systems and implemented. You'll also provide high-quality support and advice to the Chief Custodial Officer.Mōu | About youWe are seeking someone with a proven track record of success preferably in a custodial environment or similar role but can demonstrate ability to influence and lead practice.   • Ability to interface with senior management, to think and operate strategically and to exercise sound judgement and decision making.
  • Experience with service development including quality improvement and assurance processes.
  • Communication style and skill that clearly articulates messages and complex issues to a variety of audiences, complemented with active listening skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in kaupapa Māori environments and an in-depth understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how it relates to health and wellbeing.
Ngā painga | The benefitsThe midpoint of the salary range is $141,651 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $120,404 - $169,982 per annum.
