
Civil Utility Worker/Operator

As a Civil Utility Worker, you will support our team with laying electrical cables, installing high-voltage equipment, and removing outdated gear. Based at our Arwen depot in Auckland, you will help deliver and install electrical assets across Greater Auckland, working closely with our sub-division and electrical teams. You will also play a key role in maintaining safety by identifying hazards and stopping unsafe work when necessary. This role reports to the Field Services Manager - Underground Connections and Civil.- Perform manual tasks like digging, backfilling, and installing cables and equipment
- Organise your tasks to manage productivity effectively
- Identify hazards and set up safe worksites following safety practices
- Contribute to toolbox talks and help implement safety controls
- Check and maintain Northpower equipment to ensure it's in top condition
- Safely transport materials and gear to worksites.What's in it for you?

- A minimum of 12 months experience in physical or labouring type role
- Experience working in or around electricity network in NZ preferred but not essential
- Valuable knowledge of Vector's working requirements and installation standards
- Experience working on the Vector network not essential but an advantage
- Physically fit and be able to lift heavy weights up to 20Kg
- A great work attitude and willingness to be part of a diverse team along with a strong focus to health & safety
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and communicate well and proven reliabilityAbout us
