To know more about what we do and what's on in Auckland visit our website:He angitūtanga: The opportunityAs a Business Advisor with Tātaki Auckland Unlimited (TAU), you will provide expert financial and business advice that helps strengthen the performance of our business units. This role is pivotal to ensuring managers have accurate, timely information to support sound decision-making. You'll lead planning, performance reporting, and financial analysis across both financial and non-financial measures, while also contributing to special projects that enhance business performance, planning, and reporting across TAU. Your insights will play a key role in improving efficiency, driving results, and ensuring alignment with TAU's strategic goals.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, support and coordinate business planning, ensuring delivery of strategic goals and accurate input into the Long Term and Annual Plans.
  • Provide timely financial analysis, reporting, and performance insights (including operating budgets, CAPEX, KPIs) to guide decision-making.
  • Conduct business analysis, revenue and expenditure assessments, and develop business cases for new opportunities.
  • Prepare, lead and contribute to management reporting, including financial and non-financial performance results, forecasts, and audits.
  • Build collaborative relationships across TAU, ensuring effective communication, service delivery improvements, and contribution to key projects.
Click this link for theHe kōrero mōu: About youTo succeed in this role, you'll bring at least five years' experience in finance, including three years in a senior position responsible for building organisational budgets. Proven expertise in monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis is essential, along with a solid background in procurement. Experience working within large and complex organisations is important, as it requires the ability to manage competing priorities and navigate multi-layered structures. High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required, and knowledge of SAP will be highly regarded. The ability to work independently, take initiative, and build effective solutions is critical, as is being a strong collaborator who can contribute to learning circles and communities of practice.Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting designation such as CA, CPA, or CMA (required).
  • Demonstrated ability to operate confidently in senior financial roles within complex environments.
