Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to patient care for both acute and long-term conditions.Don't miss this unique opportunity to work in a friendly, supportive environment and enjoy a rewarding and busy role with a diverse range of patient cases and complex presentations.The job is based in a purpose-built secondary care hospital offering acute services to the people of the Eastern Bay of Plenty. Services offered include emergency medicine, paediatric, general, and orthopaedic surgery, obstetrics, and mental health – alongside acute and ambulatory general medicine.The Medical services consist of a team of seven physicians who work alongside the multidisciplinary team and junior medical staff to provide patient care for both acute and long-term conditions, in patients and out patients.Current Physicians within the service have wide experience in acute medicine and areas of subspecialty such as rural medicine.
Access to other subspeciality areas such as oncology, renal and neurology are available regionally with clinics being delivered locally regularly.Working in the acute medical service is rewarding and busy with a range of patient case types and complex presentations. Like many hospitals of this size, there are close collegial relationships across all services and a friendly supportive work environment.The remuneration package is attractive with a basic salary supplemented with on call allowances, superannuation benefits, six weeks annual leave and a generous relocation package to ease your move over to New Zealand.Preferred Requirements:

Vocational registration with the New Zealand Medical Council or eligibility for the same in the scope of internal medicine
FRACP or equivalent specialist qualification in internal / general medicine
Experience in a range of acute medicine settings (preferred)
Strong skills and experience in acute medicine
Interest in training and growing junior medical staff
Commitment to growth in secondary health service delivery
Experience in high acuity/emergency care, palliative care, and chronic disease management (preferred)
