In this role, your responsibilities span across multiple domains. You are integral to continuous improvement initiatives, actively contributing to the development and enhancement of the organization's continuous improvement understanding and capability. Your strategic impact extends to shaping and refining the overarching architectural strategy, where you provide invaluable guidance and oversight to System Architects. Collaboration with various ICT and business teams is central to ensuring architectural alignment, while your commitment to staying informed about emerging technologies and trends positions you as a key driver of innovation within the organization. You will be relied upon to design and implement robust data architectures supporting data analytics, business intelligence, and data-driven decision-making capabilities. Your role also encompasses overseeing the integration of data from diverse sources, facilitating seamless data flow for analysis and reporting. Finally, your exploration and recommendation of emerging data technologies and architectures, such as Big Data, machine learning, and data lakes, contribute significantly to enhancing business value and maintaining a competitive edge.Furthermore, aligning with Auckland Council behaviors, your contributions include actively participating in architectural governance frameworks, identifying, and mitigating architectural risks, and representing the organization in industry forums and conferences. Your commitment to security is evident in the meticulous management of risks within the architectural framework. Additionally, you play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with both internal and external standards, fostering effective communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Transitioning to your specialized role in Data Architecture, you lead the creation and implementation of a comprehensive data architecture that harmonizes with the organization's broader technology, data, and business strategy. Strategic thinking is a pivotal skill, underpinned by a deep understanding of enterprise architecture principles. The ideal candidate must possess a diverse skill set, including effective communication, innovation, risk management, industry knowledge, collaboration, and adaptability. This role demands the ability to navigate seamlessly across multiple business and technical domains while maintaining profound expertise in at least one relevant domain specialty aligned with ICT strategic direction. Analytical and problem-solving skills are indispensable, coupled with an inherent adaptability to navigate changes in technology, business priorities, and organizational structure. Effective personal leadership is paramount, necessitating traits such as collaboration, trustworthiness, curiosity, and the ability to earn the respect of both ICT and Business Leadership.Qualifications for this role mandate a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. The candidate is expected to bring over 10 years of experience in technology architecture, showcasing a robust focus on data, and a proven track record in strategic planning and team leadership.
