And our global opportunities are endless for you to grow and get recognised for your passion to perform.We are currently seeking an Engineering Manager BMS or Electronic Security to join our Honeywell Building Automation team in Freemans Bay, Auckland reporting to the NZ Engineering Leader. This exciting role has been established due to further grow of our Building Automation (BA) business in NZ. To be precise, this role is taking full responsibility for the sales review, design of relevant projects, as well as engineering and commissioning delivery of all BMS or Electronic Security project aspects as well as providing line management. This is a key technical and people leadership role providing guidance, leadership, mentoring and technical expertise to our inhouse BMS or Electronic Security engineers for all relevant projects on a nationwide basis as needed. It also contributes to the engineering advancement by pursuing continued professional development and adoption of new initiatives within the engineering business. The role includes some nationwide travel as required, to ensure complete technical ownership as well as people management for all relevant BMS or Electronic Security projects is maintained, and the successful delivery ensured.Key Responsibilities:
  • Ownership of assigned engineering and commissioning project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Leadership of the BMS or Electronic Security requirements for the wider business
  • Engineering team line management and provision of direction for all assigned engineering project resources
  • Drive compliance to standardization, process improvement and adoption and utilization of tools and initiatives.
  • Responsible for the overall execution of the system design, engineering, implementation, commissioning, and documentation of assigned projects.
  • Assessment of customer sites for design, engineering, installation, and commissioning requirements.
  • Review of incoming project documentation for impact to the project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Ownership of engineering submittals and all relevant documentation to various stakeholders.
  • Prepare work packages for team members (local and remote).
  • Utilize offshore and remote engineering resources efficiently to minimise costs and reduce the local requirement. of performing repetitive and non-value adding tasks.
  • Plan and execute the day-to-day engineering and commissioning activities.
  • Manage effective communications with all project stakeholders.
  • Assist the supply chain as necessary with product and services specifications and negotiations.
Key Experience & Capabilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (e.g., electrical, electronic, controls, mechatronic, computer science). Alternatively relevant trade qualifications with significant experience.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years' experience in BMS or Electronic Security projects including extensive on-site knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a team, work co-operatively and provide technical direction in a team environment.
  • Proven track record in a project engineering capacity which includes delivery of large and complex technology-based projects.
  • BMS, Electronic Security or Operational Technology experience in a data centre environment is well regarded.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
