It brings together fundamental science knowledge and expertise in the natural resources that underpin the bioeconomy and the native estate, alongside applied research capabilities in manufacturing, agritech and biotech, and the food and fibre sectors.Our people drive innovation and commercial outcomes in the bioeconomy, using research and technology to support enduring economic growth and resilience, a healthy environment, and positive social outcomes for Aotearoa New Zealand.This position sits under the current Manaaki Whenua - Landcare Research (MWLR) group of the Bioeconomy Science Institute.Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the rolePurposeThe Financial Accounting role covers a range of accounting and reporting tasks including Planning and Budgeting, Fixed Assets accounting, Cost Centre reporting, NetSuite financial support and reporting consolidated results to BSI Management, Board and key stakeholders.Primary Objectives
  • Provide effective business, planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting information. Contribute to the creation and deployment of the annual Budget, the three-year SCI Plan and forecasts.
  • Support allocated Cost Centre owners with reporting, forecasting and budgeting processes,
  • Manage accounting and reporting of fixed assets and capital expenditure in both accounting and tax books.
  • Administer Capex budget bidding annually and contribute to capex allocation decision making, and new major asset project management.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial information and advice which is future looking, and which creates visibility and transparency.
This position is permanent, fulltime (37.5 hours per week) and reports to the Head of Finance.Ō pūmanawa | About youYou will have a relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting and be a current member of CAANZ or equivalent. Previous experience including use of computer-based accounting and financial systems, budgeting/forecasting and financial reporting is essential. Strong analytical skills are also a key requirement.
