We're also committed to enabling aviation participants to support economic growth in New Zealand's aviation sector.About the roleAs a key member of the Certification and Monitoring team, the Project Manager plays a vital role in the delivering of a specific certification project that support the CAA's strategic goals. This position oversees all aspects of project delivery from planning and budgeting to execution and closure, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities.We are seeking an exceptional project manager who can demonstrate a background in either aerospace, military or complex engineering projects. This is a unique project where you will utilize all your project management, analytical and relationship management skills.The starting salary for the Project Manager within Aviation Safety Oversight is between $136,939 and $191,448. Starting salaries are to be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, as well as internal relativities.What You'll BringYou'll be an experienced and adaptable project professional who has unique skills ready to take on this new challenge. Confident in engaging stakeholders, you will apply project management frameworks to maintain momentum and drive progress. Your strong planning skills, organisational ability, and proactive problem-solving enable you to manage timelines, navigate risks, and resolve issues effectively.To be successful in this role, you'll need to show:
  • Proven experience in the aviation sector, ideally with knowledge of aircraft flight testing processes.
  • 3+ years of experience in project management or leading complex project workstreams.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Confidence in using project management tools and techniques to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Experience in planning and organising, including developing project schedules and delivery plans.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Being proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • A project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP) is desirable but not essential.
