We're seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Manager to take the lead on driving a strong safety culture across a busy Northland operation. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll work closely with senior management, staff, and contractors to ensure best practice health and safety systems are in place and continuously improving.About the role:
As H&S Manager, you'll be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety systems that not only meet compliance but genuinely support the wellbeing of the team. Key responsibilities include:

Leading the overall H&S strategy and embedding safe work practices
Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies
Carrying out audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
Supporting managers with H&S training, coaching, and development
Reporting to senior leadership and driving continuous improvement initiatives
Building strong relationships across the site, fostering an engaged and accountable safety culture

About you:
We're looking for a confident communicator and natural leader who can influence at all levels of the business. You'll bring:

Proven experience in a senior H&S role, ideally within manufacturing, heavy industry, or a high-risk environment
Strong knowledge of NZ Health & Safety legislation
Exceptional stakeholder engagement and coaching skills
A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
Relevant H&S qualifications (e.g. Diploma or NEBOSH equivalent preferred)
