Assistant Category Manager - Support Office

- Develop and manage category strategies to achieve sales and profit targets
- Provide guidance to the Category Manager on pricing movements and make recommendations where required
- Develop and maintain promotional plans in conjunction with Suppliers and provide quality briefings to the marketing team for activation requirements
- Work through solutions with suppliers and keep communication channels open with relevant parties
- Foster strong supplier relationships and exceptional internal stakeholder relationships
- Drive strategic supply decisions to optimize commercial performance
- Conduct market research to identify new or alternative product ranges and suppliers
- Ensure all supplier agreements are in place, reviewed, and renewed.
- Self-starter with a commitment to high performance and a passion for driving business success.
- Excellent people relationship and communication skills
- Category or product management experience is ideal, however not essential
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Proven ability to develop promotional campaigns on a national scope.
- Knowledge of distribution, retail, and/or the building industry is desirable.
