Within the Business, the Team Leader - Structures is a working role responsible for the leadership, co-ordination and delivery of designated Structures activities and teams carrying out maintenance and projects on Downer contracted sites.The Team Leader - Structures has a strong focus on people leadership and the promotion of safety, quality and productivity to optimise value for the Downer business and our customers.This role will entail the operational leadership of the Structures team and look to taking the team to new levels, this will also being an 'on the tools working' role. You will also:
  • Ensure that daily targets for productivity are met in accordance with health, safety and quality requirements
  • Be responsible for all stakeholder management and direct site relationships required within the service area
  • Help the crew to problem solve and encourage growth and development within the team
  • Lead / run the bigger projects as they come along and not be afraid to think outside of the box
  • Carry out sexton duties - upkeep of grounds and preparation of burial plots
About you:
  • Strong leadership experience in building and not afraid of a challenge
  • Strong proven track record of managing teams to meet defined targets
  • A sound ability to coordinate multiple jobs and sites with multiple work disciplines
  • The ability to incorporate innovation into work processes and outputs
  • Well-developed organisational skills, including written and oral communication as well as the ability to engage with our mobile job management system
  • A knowledge of technology and practices, including those of major customers
  • A sound understanding of productivity requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills to be applied to all operational levels for internal and external relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a 'can do' attitude
  • Full clean Class 1 drivers licence (Class 2 preferred)
  • WTR with proven experience on excavator
