Mō te tūnga | About the roleWe require the successful applicant to become trained as a designated Medical Officer of Health (if they are not already). As a designated MOoH, you will be able to participate in the on-call roster and undertake statutory duties as a designated MOoH.As a key member of the Te Waipounamu National Public Health Service, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Providing professional leadership for public health/population health.
  • Working in partnership with colleagues to ensure the quality of public health work.
  • Providing advice to ensure a cohesive, effective, and equitable health system.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, Skills: Essential:
  • Vocational registration in public health medicine.
  • Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Proven knowledge of equity models and practice.
  • Understanding of the New Zealand health sector.
  • Current Annual Practising Certificate or eligible for one.
