We're looking for a passionate and organised individual to help bring our kaupapa to life through practical support, coordination, and whanaungatanga.About the RoleAs part of the Ahi Kaaroa team, you'll provide project and engagement coordination that brings to life kaupapa and opportunities for Ngaa Rauru Kiitahi. Working closely with the Pou Ahi Kaaroa, you'll help coordinate projects that engage uri, strengthen connections, and encourage iwi participation in significant events, ensuring outcomes are well planned, well delivered, and reflect the aspirations Te Kaahui o Rauru.What You'll Bring
  • A passion for iwi development and a strong understanding of kaupapa Maaori values.
  • Confidence engaging with uri of all ages, hapuu, marae, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a kaupapa iwi environment, while also taking initiative independently.
  • A commitment to kaupapa Maaori and willingness to grow in tikanga and Te Reo Maaori.
Key Responsibilities
  • Project Support: Coordinate iwi-led projects and events, assist with planning, delivery, and reporting.
  • Relationship Building: Maintain strong connections with uri, marae, hapuu, and stakeholders.
  • Kaupapa Support: Provide manaakitanga, promote health and safety, and ensure a positive experience for uri and manuhiri.
  • Representation: Represent Te Kaahui o Rauru at iwi, hapuu, and marae kaupapa as needed.
Role Requirements
  • A tertiary qualification in project management or related field, or commitment to achieving one.
  • Full NZ driver's licence.
  • Current First Aid Certificate (or commitment to obtain one).
  • Relevant experience in project coordination (ideally 2+ years).
  • Ability to work flexibly, including some evenings/weekends as required for iwi kaupapa.
  • An ability to converse and understand Te Reo Maaori me ona tikanga would be an advantage
