Title: Support Worker, Manaaki Tāngata - Victim Support
Location: Victim Support National Office, Wellington
Salary: $64,000 gross per annum, pro-rated
Hours: 34 hours per week, Saturday 7 - 3.30pm, Sunday 12.30 - 9pm, Monday 9 - 5.30pm, and Tuesday 9pm - Wednesday 7am (overnight shift)About the role | Mō te tūngaManaaki Tāngata | Victim Support, National Contact Service (NCS) provides a nationwide 24-hour response service to victims of crime and traumatic events. We are looking for a permanent Support Navigator to join our NCS team, for 34 hours per week. This is a hybrid working position.This role is based in our National Office in Wellington, and the core responsibilities include:
  • Answering calls from Police, Victims, Victims of Crime Information Line, employees, and other appropriate lines as advised.
  • Providing initial screening, intake, triage, assessment, and Support Worker allocation to victims of crime and traumatic events, ensuring that cases are directed to the appropriate area based on needs, requirements, and priorities.
  • Providing support to victims of incidents classified as low level
  • Accurate, appropriate and timely entry of records in Victim Support databases and systems.
