This is an awake night shift working Friday and Saturday nights, 11pm - 7.30am, based in Christchurch.We are looking for an experienced support worker to join our 24/7 crisis respite team. Our service offers short-term support to up to 5 guests at a time who are experiencing mental health distress, making it challenging for them to stay in their home environment. They come to us through their GP or mental health service.This is an awake nightshift role, where you'll be there to lend a hand with everyday things like making meals and keeping the place tidy, as well as being a calm, steady support for guests while they focus on their wellbeing. - Focus on the individuals needs and provide culturally safe practice.
- Complete relevant administrative tasks, take comprehensive notes, provide effective handovers to the next shift, and support and collaborate with your colleagues.
- While they are asleep, you will be kept busy with other tasks like cleaning and supporting the day shifts with maintaining things like filing, first aid kits, emergency kits and preparation of paperwork.
You're a natural when it comes to caring and empathy and understand the power of working in a recovery-focused way, where individuals take charge of their own journey, making you an ideal fit for this role.In addition

- hold a current and full drivers licence
- hold a current comprehensive first aid certificate covering units 6400, 6401 and 6402 or be willing to obtain one within 3 months of employment
- have knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi
