We work to 1-, 3-, 5-, and 10-year horizons in service delivery and enablers, with a 20-year horizon for infrastructure.Our core workstreams this year include:
  • Nationwide Clinical Service Planning with Clinical & Strategic Networks
  • Service Prioritisation & Investment Pipeline
  • Design Nationwide Strategic Change Programmes particularly in cancer and diagnostic services
  • Nationwide Strategic Production Planning
  • Strategic Budget & Funding System for Hospitals & Specialist Services
  • HSS Intelligence & Insights
The primary purpose of the Clinical Services Planning Advisor is to be responsible for supporting clinical service planning, working with the Clinical Networks and the wider Hospital and Specialist Services H&SS Leadership Team to ensure a nationwide approach.The role is responsible for assessing current performance, variation in access to care, forecasts of requirements for care and providing valuable insights to support the efficient and effective planning of clinical services.Mōu | About youYou're a highly skilled and and experienced in healthcare analysis and/or planning. You have excellent organisational skills, including the ability to think ahead, use initiative, establish priorities, and meet deadlines while maintaining high levels of accuracy and confidentiality. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential, enabling you to tailor complex messages to various audiences with clarity and credibility.Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
  • A relevant tertiary qualification, or equivalent experience
  • Relevant longer-term experience specific to the job and work demands, acquired over time.
  • Previous experience, within the health sector or another large organisational setting, in applying critical thinking, using sound judgment to develop options for consideration is preferrable.
  • Knowledge of the machinery of government, and policy development, is desirable
