A recent consent to develop the previous Martha mine has provided our project with an extension of life providing our 350 staff and contractors, and the people of Waihi, an assurance that we plan to be here for the long-term.Job DescriptionJoin our Waihi North Project team, who are currently working on the development of a new gold mine which is currently going through the government's fast track consenting process. This role is responsible for the end-to-end procurement, logistics, and expediting functions for project-related goods and services. The emphasis is on ensuring timely delivery, cost effectiveness, compliance with company policies, and alignment with project schedules.Key responsibilities:
  • Sourcing and evaluating suppliers, preparing and issuing tender documentation, requests for quotation (RFQs) negotiate contracts, and manage purchase orders for equipment, materials, and services.
  • Arranging for the commercial and technical evaluation of bids and ensuring that purchase orders comply with appropriate specifications and other compliance criteria.
  • Ensuring compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Assisting with the registration of new sources of supply, including vendor visits where appropriate.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with vendors.
  • Coordinate transport and shipping of project materials, equipment, and consumables.
  • Arrange import/export documentation, customs clearance, and freight forwarding.
  • Track vendor production and delivery schedules against project timelines.
  • Liaise with suppliers to resolve delays and mitigate risks to project schedules.
  • Expediting orders and controlling logistics to ensure timely delivery of equipment, materials, and services to the project site.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to define material and service requirements.
Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in purchasing, supply, logistics & contract administration or similar.
  • Full and current driver licence required.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in procurement, logistics, or expediting roles, preferably in project environments (e.g., construction, resources, mining, infrastructure).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contract negotiation and supply chain risk management.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) and MS Office.
