
Senior Technical Analyst - Data Engineering

- Conduct in-depth technical analysis of Financial Crime systems, APIs, data flows, and infrastructure components.
- Perform gap analysis between current state and future state across business and technology domains.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable documentation for diverse stakeholders.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, testers, and business SMEs to elicit and validate requirements.
- Produce and maintain artefacts including solution outlines, interface specifications, sequence diagrams, data mapping, and process models.
- Challenge solution design decisions where needed and provide options backed by evidence and insight.
- Lead workshops and technical discussions to align understanding across teams.
- Support quality assurance through involvement in test planning, data validation, and scenario walkthroughs.
- Translate regulatory and compliance needs into structured, testable requirements.
- Validate technical solutions to ensure alignment with compliance rules and operational workflows.
- Drive consistency and rigour across documentation, versioning, traceability, and sign-off processes.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in a Technical Analyst, Systems Analyst with at least 5 years in banking or financial services.
- Strong technical acumen - deep understanding of software architecture, APIs, data structures, microservices, cloud technologies, and integration models.
- Proficient in technical documentation tools such as Confluence, Visio, Enterprise Architect, or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of SQL or scripting to assist in data investigations or validations
- Experience with agile delivery methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and DevOps environments.
- Ability to challenge and validate technical assumptions in a constructive, professional manner.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills - able to interface comfortably with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to lead analysis streams, set direction, and mentor others.
- Strong problem-solving and conceptual thinking capabilities.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills - clarity, structure, and articulation is essential.
- Proven experience working across multiple platforms, integrations, data pipelines, or enterprise-scale transformations.
- Experience in regulatory change programs or large-scale remediation efforts.
- Exposure to enterprise integration patterns (EIP), RESTful APIs, or event-driven architectures.
- Familiarity with security, compliance, and performance considerations in system design.
- Highly detail-oriented with a commitment to precision and completeness.
- Proactive, takes ownership and accountability.
- Confident and collaborative, with the ability to influence stakeholders and lead conversations.
- Calm under pressure and capable of navigating ambiguity or complexity.
