Rentokil Initial is looking for a hands-on, self-motivated Pest Control Technician to join our team.In this role, you'll be the first line of defence in the fight against pests, solving customer problems with expert advice and proactive service. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend rosters and varied start times. You'll manage a portfolio of clients across the Whangārei region, servicing clients in the wider Northland area from Kaiwaka to Kaitaia and coast to coast in between.Benefits:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Efficiently maintain, load, and unload your service vehicle each day to ensure you are fully prepared for your scheduled assignments.
  • Conduct thorough inspections at both commercial and residential customer sites to identify signs of pest activity and determine suitable treatment plans.
  • Apply effective pest control solutions and provide expert advice to customers on prevention and ongoing management.
  • Identify hygiene risks and environmental concerns, working towards creating safer, healthier spaces for clients and their teams.
  • Accurately complete digital service reports after each visit to document the work performed and any recommendations made.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining a friendly and professional attitude in all interactions.
  • Stay attentive to customer needs and look for opportunities to recommend additional services that add value and improve outcomes.
A successful candidate will have:
  • A full New Zealand driver's licence with a clean driving record
  • A clean criminal record
  • A genuine love for the outdoors and our local environments
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to maintain and grow client relationships
  • A safety-first mindset and the ability to follow strict and evolving health & safety procedures
  • Confidence using an Android mobile phone and related apps
  • Comfortable working independently in the field, while also having a “one team” mindset
  • Willingness to travel long distances and stay away overnight when required
  • Being physically strong and able, comfortable working outdoors in varying environmental conditions
Desirable, but not essential:
  • Previous knowledge of pest control methods and regulations
  • New Zealand Certificate in Pest Operations (Level 3) - Urban Pest Control
  • Working at Heights and EWP licences and experience
  • Current NZ Firearm Licence
  • Ability to drive a manual vehicle
