For a sneak peek into life at allnex, don’t miss our !Position overviewallnex invites you to join our dynamic Commercial team as Sales Manager in Penrose Auckland OR Wellington, New Zealand to direct and control sales of allnex products to a defined territory of customers in New Zealand in order to generate maximum sales and profitability for the company in accordance with established targets and budgets. In this role, you will be the face of allnex’s business in the New Zealand market and manage target segment-customer lists and opportunity pipeline. You will be assisting the Sales Director in meeting and implementing business/company policies as well as enhancing and managing the interactions with existing customers from direct and indirect accounts. - Promote sales within existing and potential customers.
- Obtain and report market information on competitor activity and products.
- Direct sales activities for the achievement of short, medium and long term business policy objectives, including increased margin recovery or market share.
- Ensure pricing strategies are carried out via timely implementation in the market place.
- Liaise directly with allnex technical staff to gain technical service support for the customer base and provide customers with technical information directly or indirectly.
- Assist with inventory management with the disposal by sale of obsolete and slow moving stock in concert with the Product Line Manager.
- Ensure all customer visit reports and opportunities are maintained in central CRM program.
- Work within allnex's safety guidelines and help to promote a safe working environment.
- Ensure liaison between New Zealand and Global as regards to common customers.
- Accept personal responsibility to ensure all company policies are adhered to including contribution to a safe workplace and compliance with the allnex EEO program.
- Other ad hoc projects or requests as directed by the Sales Director.
- 10 years of sales experience in the chemical business, preferably with the coatings industry.
- Knowledge of and experience in sales techniques/strategies.
- Demonstrates practical knowledge of coating resin technology and applications.
- Strong understanding of basic business principles and financial acumen.
- Self-motivation with the ability to work independently.
- Demonstrates strong teamwork and communication skills across all levels.
- Good computer literacy, especially Microsoft products.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Chemistry or related field.
