Job Category: TR - TrainingJob Description:The Missionary Department is seeking to appoint MTC Teachers. This is a permanent part-time position, working 25 hours per week, and the successful candidate will be required to work from NZ Missionary Training Centre. You may be required to work daytime and evening shifts from Monday to Saturday, and some Sunday work may also be required for translation purposes. This position reports to the Manager of Training and Operations.As a MTC Teacher, this position is central to the missionaries' role to 'Invite others to come unto Christ by teaching language skills, gospel doctrine, and missionary skills based on an approved curriculum (Preach My Gospel). You may also be invited to participate in various teaching settings, with opportunities to contribute to pilot programs and new initiatives.Responsibilities:Provide instruction and feedback to missionaries through one-on-one coaching and group workshops.Plan and deliver lessons based on approved curriculum.Guide missionaries in planning and tracking their learning progress.Implement training and directives from supervisors and attend weekly training meetings.Report on missionary progress and task completion to leadership.Coach missionaries during practice lessons and assess language proficiency when needed.May assist in role-playing exercises and support additional training duties at the MTC.Qualifications:
  • A recent returned missionary within 12 months with strong knowledge of Preach My Gospel.
  • Fluency in English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional coaching, facilitation, and training abilities, with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Understanding of language-learning strategies (for language teaching positions) and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
