About the Role:Are you a passionate, fully registered ECE teacher looking for your next exciting opportunity? Our purpose-built centre offers a warm, welcoming, and home-like environment where tamariki and whānau feel a true sense of belonging.We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Teacher to lead our Toddlers Room (ages 2-3.5 years). With spacious indoor and outdoor areas and a well-established team of three teachers (plus relievers when needed), our toddlers thrive in a nurturing, play-based learning environment. We are looking for someone who can lead with heart, bring rich experience in toddler care and education, and fit into our diverse and inclusive Avondale whānau.This is a permanent position working 40 hours Monday - Friday.In this leadership position, you'll play a key role in:

Guiding and mentoring our team with warmth and professionalism
Supporting tamariki through a responsive, child-led curriculum
Building strong relationships with our children, families, and team
Upholding Te Whāriki and Te Tiriti o Waitangi in daily practice

What We're Looking For:To be successful in this role, you will:

Hold a B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current NZ teacher registration
Have strong knowledge of curriculum planning, learning stories, and programme design
Bring sound understanding of ECE Regulations, Te Whāriki, and compliance requirements
Demonstrate a passion for working with toddlers in a respectful, inclusive way
Be ready to bring positive energy, cultural responsiveness, and leadership to the team
