This is not just a typical project delivery role - it is a chance to play a key part in the recovery and rebuild of the Tasman region following recent severe storm events that caused widespread damage to local infrastructure.As a Site Engineer, you will be directly contributing to restoring vital transport links, strengthening community resilience, and ensuring the region's infrastructure is rebuilt to a higher standard for the future. This position offers the opportunity to work on challenging, high-profile projects where your technical expertise, problem-solving, and leadership will have a real and lasting impact on the community.You will support the Construction Manager and supervisors across all phases of delivery - from planning and tendering through to resource management and Zero Harm leadership.Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development of project methodology, budgets, and construction programmes.
  • Assist in managing contracts to meet quality, time, and financial objectives.
  • Monitor performance against project frameworks, ensuring compliance and proactive issue resolution.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and project partners.
  • Anticipate challenges, resolve issues early, and ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Promote safe and sustainable practices, ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills
  • Proven project engineering experience within the construction industry, ideally with a contracting organisation
  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Strong understanding of contract management and project delivery processes.
  • Track record of fostering safety, quality, and environmental excellence.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills that empower and develop others.
  • Flexibility to travel and work on projects outside the region if required.
