As the sole Electrician on shift, you'll be the hero when PLCs act up, motors stop turning, or E-stops “mysteriously” trigger. Fortunately, most of your shift will focus on preventative maintenance-ensuring that electrical and control systems (SCADA and HMIs) are running smoothly.The site operates 24/7 on a popular 2-2-3 shift pattern that evenly rotates between day and night shifts. This gives you a true work/life balance, with an equal number of days off. Shifts are 12 hours, running from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.You’ll use CMMS-MEX-to log work and share activity across the wider maintenance team.GOT THE RIGHT SKILLS?
We're looking for a team player with a solid background in food production or packaging. You'll need:
- A current EWRB Electrical licence
- Strong fault-finding ability
- Familiarity with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell PLCs
- Experience with HMI and SCADA systems
- A willingness to assist with mechanical tasks as needed
- Clean and tidy work habits
- Unrestricted New Zealand working rights
The base salary for a qualified and experienced Electrician is around $120k-but here's where it gets interesting. Add overtime, plus annual allowances for tools, advanced trade certs, ENCHEM, PLC programming, and long service-and you could earn another $10,000-$20,000+ annually.
