Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the roleTe Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Library Assistant to join the Client Services team in Te Pātaka Kōrero - University Library in a permanent, full-time position.Key requirements:
Assist clients to find Library content, use electronic resources and self-service options at both physical and virtual service points in a way that reflects our service principles.
Respond to borrowing, access, and membership queries.
Contribute to the management of the Library's physical collections, including shelving, signage, and the movement of collections.
Contribute to cross-team work and Library projects as required.

Have previous experience or interest in pursuing a career in the library and information sector.
Be a motivated, customer-focused individual who takes initiative and has excellent communication skills.
Thrive in this role with an excellent manner with people and strong attention to detail while maintaining a high standard of service to both students and staff.
Have the ability to remain calm under pressure and thrive working with a diverse range of client stakeholders.
Be a highly organised self-starter and natural relationship builder who relishes working autonomously as well as contributing positively to a high performing team.

A proven track record of working effectively within a team environment.

Demonstrated experience of being well organised and accurate with daily tasks.
Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
