This is an administrative role that could suit a proactive and organised coordinator, admin, or planner, who also enjoys writing engaging messages and content.In this role, you will be supported by your manager as you implement, and coordinate donor relations and stewardship activities within our Alumni Relations Development Office (ARD) to thank donors, inform them about the impact of their support and recognise their giving.The primary purpose of this role will be to coordinate a comprehensive prize and scholarship stewardship programme for donors that enhances and grows the relationship between the philanthropic community and the University.At its heart, this position exists to enhance the experience of our donors. You will work with a small, dedicated team who strive to update, educate, and connect with a wide variety of people (internal and external) to ensure that scholarships are taken up, and that we positively recognise all contributions that come through to us.In this role you will:
  • Track and promote scholarships and prizes to make sure they are awarded and our wonderful donors are thanked.
  • Become our Scholarship and Prize Guru, able to answer all scholarship and prize queries and to support the Development team to establish new scholarships and upgrade existing ones.
  • Write personal and stewardship letters for signature for Development staff.
  • Be comfortable using systems and following processes to allow us to track our actions, and to help plan new and interesting projects.
  • Support the team to organise and deliver stewardship events.
  • Draft and edit copy for internal and external audiences to convey the impact of philanthropy across both print and digital.
  • Be a connecter, building relationships and working with people across the University.

Based in Auckland’s CBD, at University House on Princes Street (once the first Synagogue in Auckland) the team provides events, communications, research, writing, and web management services.We are a small, energised team of three who embrace creativity. We all get stuck in when there is a problem to fix, and we work openly and collaboratively to get the reactive work done, when we are not planning out better ways of doing things for the future.He kōrero mōu | About youWe are seeking someone who has a few years of administration experience under their belt. Ideally, you will understand the culture of being in a service role, with the experience of the end user being our highest priority.This is a role that will require someone who likes to work in a process driven environment who enjoys running tracking systems and knows how to problem solve to keep things moving and developing as they should be. You will also need to be a people person who likes to connect and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.This is a role for someone who is energised by a busy schedule with a variety of responsibilities. Who is computer savvy, but more importantly organised and proactive.   • A tertiary qualification or demonstrated relevant experiences of at least two years in a similar role.
  • At least 3 years relevant experience in an administration, customer services, fundraising or relationship management role.
  • Excellent written and oral English as well as accuracy and attention to detail when writing and using systems.
  • Proven success in organising and managing systems and processes.
