You'll be part of a team that's highly valued across the business and recognised for its impact, influence and excellence.As part of our dynamic legal team, you'll work across a diverse range of matters including contract negotiation, compliance, intellectual property and corporate governance. You will primarily support Catalyst's New Zealand companies, Catalyst.Net Ltd (software services) and Catalyst Cloud (public cloud services), as well as our international subsidiaries.Your focus will be on commercial transactional work, supporting our software development and cloud business, while also gaining exposure to corporate matters for the Group companies, boards and shareholders. You'll also help lead initiatives to simplify and improve legal and contractual processes across the business.This role offers genuine flexibility with full-time or part-time options depending on experience and the ability to be based in either Wellington or Auckland. Most importantly, we value cultural fit, motivation and personality over ticking every box.About you
  • Ideally 4+ years PQE
  • Background in corporate/commercial law
  • Ideally some in-house and commercial contracting experience, with exposure to technology an advantage.
  • A current NZ legal practising certificate
  • Ability to simplify complex legal concepts and contribute to commercial strategy
  • People-oriented, empathetic with strong interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and/or willingness to develop knowledge of Tikanga and Te Ao Māori
